The Paramedic-Evidence Based Practice (P-EBP) Program is designed to give paramedics the tricks and tools they
need to efficiently search and appraise the research literature. Participants will develop a clinical query that
is of interest to them, conduct a literature search, pick a few key articles and perform a step-wise critique.
By the end of the Level I course, participants will compose a mini-Critically Appraised Topic (CAT). In the
Level II course, participants will build upon the skills from the Level I course. Paramedic-CATs will be stored
on this website , and are a valuable resource for other prehospital clinicians.
The entire program is built on the well established steps of the EBM cycle: questioning - searching - appraising -
applying to practice - evaluating performance.
